We create and donate custom hand-made stuffed animals (Puffs) to palliative care patients, children in the hospital with anxiety and in need of comfort, and lonely people with dementia and Alzheimer’s.

Hospitals and care facilities can be lonely. Often the patients are homesick and they might miss cuddles from a pet. We are dedicated to creating high-quality, hand-made, custom-designed stuffed animals that are specific to what each individual patient needs.

Our “Puffs” (as we call them) are stuffed with high-quality memory foam that emulates a firm cuddle, and they are made with the softest yarn. We also make our very unique weighted Puffs.

Our adorable Weighted Puffs are filled with the same materials as weighted blankets to emulate a firm “hug” when they are laying on the patient while in bed. The details in the eyes and the faces are created to bring compassion, joy, and companionship at a time of need. The gentle pressure of a weighted blanket may help ease symptoms and improve sleep for people with insomnia, anxiety, ADHD, or autism. 

The details and individually attached fur strands can resemble an existing pet at home or it can be the ultimate fantasy pet for the patient as a comforting companion.

The team of “Puffunteers” (our knitting volunteers) are dedicated to bringing companionship and comfort to children, the elderly, and everyone in between who are disconnected from their families at a difficult time.

I pledge to put my full heart and soul into creating Puffs to be special and unique — just like the patient that it will be gifted to.

I will make them with all the love, care, and attention that I can — as if I’m making them for my own beloved grandchild … with dreams of the Puff becoming a lasting family heirloom to be cherished for generations.
